We’re excited to launch our new Versus blog, “The Training Hub”, where you can find all our latest updates and news, as well as helpful training advice, product launches, event information, nutrition tips, race-day hacks and more, to help you perform in comfort and style.

We’ve spent countless hours developing the best socks to suit your training needs, from running and cycling to training and leisure. And we’re here to help you take your favourite sports to the next level with the handy information you’ll find right here in our blog. 

We’ll be chatting to coaches, sharing insights from athletes, talking nutrition tips and, of course, communicating all the latest Versus updates right here. 

To start off, we’d like to share more about our story and help you familiarise yourself with some aspects of our site you might not yet know about. 

Versus Socks was founded in 2015 by Hanno Lategan and Jurgens Uys, who are both enthusiastic entrepreneurs with a great passion for sports. Hanno’s adventurous spirit takes him mountain biking across South Africa, but you can regularly find him cleaning up the trails in Jonkershoek. Jurgens likes to mix it up between mountain biking, road cycling and chasing that sub 17min 5km PR – which he achieved, by the way, in October 2021.

As passionate athletes in their own right, it was important to have the best equipment to support their sports – and that includes the best socks! They saw a gap in the sports market for comfortable, durable and good-looking socks and they jumped at the opportunity, with the aim to inspire others to enjoy exercise as much as they do, through excitement and creativity. 

Today, over 1-million pairs of socks have been sold and Versus has expanded abroad, into the UK and other markets, while still remaining true to their heritage, designing and manufacturing socks in South Africa.

Here are some other things you might not know about us:

1. We have a RUN CREW that meets and runs 5km every Friday morning in Stellenbosch – our home town. To join, find out more here. 
2. Besides our epic socks, we have a newly introduced range of accessories and caps! 
3. Did you know that we make socks for future athletes? That’s right: we have a kids range! Check out our awesome new Unicorn kids socks here. 
4. One of the great additional services we offer is customisation! We can create fully customised socks for your event, school, team or company! Get in touch with us to find out more.
