Socks with a cause.

The Versus endeavour for making a difference: Penguin Active Crew Socks

This is more than just a sock. It’s a symbol of hope for the African Penguin, for our oceans, and for the future of our planet.

A New Chapter in Conservation

In 2025, we turned our attention to a new cause that’s close to home and critically in need of help: the African Penguin. With their population in rapid decline, we knew we had to step in. That’s where our Penguin Active Crew Socks come in.

Inspired by these remarkable seabirds and designed to spark awareness, these socks support the incredible work done by SANCCOB, a global leader in seabird rescue and rehabilitation.

We’re proud to donate 10% of all proceeds from our Penguin Active Crew Socks to SANCCOB.

Meet SANCCOB

Founded in 1968 in response to a devastating oil spill, SANCCOB (Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds) is now the world’s leading organisation for the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of seabirds.

With seabird hospitals in Cape Town and Gqeberha, their dedicated teams work around the clock to care for ill, injured, abandoned and oiled seabirds, especially the critically endangered African Penguin.

Their work doesn’t stop at rescue. SANCCOB also trains conservationists, educates the public, supports seabird rangers, and participates in national and international conservation policy efforts.
